WALTER H. BANKS, 82, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away, joining his wife Dorothy in paradise on April 1, 2024.
Walter was born to Drusella Patton and Walter Banks in Columbus, Ohio on October 31, 1941. Walter joined the Navy when he was 17 and retired from General Motors.
Walter was a dedicated husband, step-father, grandfather and great- grandfather, who lived a full and vibrant life. Born in the heart of Ohio, he was known for being a sweet man and unwavering dedication to his wife. He was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and served his community until he was physically unable. He served his congregation with dedication and found great comfort in his beliefs. Walter loved to sing, fish, paint, and brought laughter and light to every moment.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Dorothy A. Banks. Together, they shared a life of love and commitment, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and unity. Walter’s memory will be forever honored by his stepchildren and their spouses: Debbie (Noel) Cushman and her husband Mitch Cushman, Phil Noel, Terri (Noel) White and her husband Larry White, Jodie (Noel) and her late husband Al Cornel, Mark Noel, and Kathy Wood and wife Carson Ronevich; his grandchildren, David, Jared, Anya, Jamie, Jennifer, Manuel, Keisha, Shawn, Leah, JP, Taylor, Jacob; and grandchildren in-law, Zack and Tyler. Each of them brought immense joy to his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments.
His kindness and laughter filled every room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Walter’s journey through life was marked by an enduring optimism and a heart that knew no bounds. He will be dearly missed. Above all else, Walter was a dedicated Husband, Stepfather, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was full of love and touched every person he met, even in his last days.
