Margaret "Peg" Ann (Jordan) Allemang

Margaret Ann “Peg” Jordan Allemang, of Columbus, Ohio died on Saturday, Oct 6, 2018 at Riverside Hospital, with her loving family at her side. It was less than two weeks before her 85th birthday.

She was born October 19, 1933 in Leesburg, Ohio, grew up on a farm near there, and graduated from Leesburg High School.  After graduation, Peg moved to Columbus where she married her husband of 65 years, Denman (Denny) and raised a family.  She retired from The Ohio State University in 1996 after 22 years and graduated from OSU in 1997 with a BS Degree in English Literature and Women’s Studies, cum laude.   While working at OSU, she enjoyed attending the football games where she cheered on the buckeyes, and she especially liked TBDBITL since she had played in her high school band.  

Peg was a woman of sharply focused sympathy and great passion, whose humor and kindness charmed everyone she met. Most of all, she was a constant source of love for her family.  She had a strong dedication to fitness, especially running, where she ran in local races and won many age group awards.  She also enjoyed walking her dog, Maddie, to keep fit.   She remained active in the local civic association and for decades was involved in PFLAG Columbus. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Osee (Smith) Jordan, brothers James and Charles Jordan, and baby sister Emma Jean. 

She is survived by her husband, Denny; sons, Donald (Kathryn) of Hilliard, Ohio, and Dean, of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren; Brendan and Nicholas Allemang; nieces Carla Jordan (Al) Lendrum and Brenda Jordan Ward; and nephews Kevin (Shari) Jordan and Roger Jordan. 

A private graveside ceremony will be held with the immediate family.
