Catherine Wolf Obituary

Catherine L. “Kay” Wolf, 99, died peacefully on January 4, 2022, at her Wesley Glen residence.

Kay was born in 1922 to the late John P. and Florentine Schneider Corcoran. On October 19, 1946, she married Richard “Dick” Wolf, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers John L. and Donald, sister-in-law Doris Hart Corcoran, brother-in-law George Lovensheimer, son-in-law Ronald J. Plumley, and a beloved grandson, Nathan J. Pisauro.

Surviving are her three daughters and five sons, Jacqueline Pisauro, Eric (Linda), Mark (Margaret), Jeff (Carol), Matthew (Kathy), Mary Plumley, Julianna Nourayi, and Philip (Jean); sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Lovensheimer; brother, David (Barbara) Corcoran; sister-in-law, Joanne Corcoran; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Kay was quite active in the Central Ohio community; next to her family, her passions included writing, sailing, tennis, and bicycling—to the extent of bicycling over 40,000 miles in three decades. She was active in the Catholic Family Movement (CFM). After rearing her eight children, Kay set off on a two-month trip hitch-hiking through Europe, about which she wrote and published the book I Hitchhiked Out of My Life, journaling her adventures. Kay was a participating contributor in the Women’s Poetry Workshop at The Ohio State University. As testimony to the love she had for her Corcoran siblings, relatives, and heritage, Kay rarely, if ever, missed the annual Ross County Corcoran Family Reunion since its inception in 1933.
