David Stolzenburg, Sr.

David Stolzenburg, Sr., age 78, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022.

David was born on September 1, 1944 to Lulu Belle Hines and David Stolzenburg in Columbus, Ohio.  Throughout his long life, he had many occupations; you could say he was a Jack of All Trades.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1962, he and his brother owned a Certified gas station, he worked in a factory, he was a cook, a cab driver, and he became a certified electrician when he got involved in repairing homes.  The occupation he was most known for was auto mechanic, here is where he became a hero to many because he would fix any car for a small fee.    

David had previous marriages, but met his lifelong partner Mary Stolzenburg and married her in 1990, they remained married until she died in a car accident in 2020. 

David was predeceased by his grandparents Charles and Bessie Cottrell, loving mother Lula Belle Hines, father David Stolzenburg, beloved wife Mary Stolzenburg, and brothers: Terry Stolzenburg, Kenny Jones, and Bobby Penwell. 

He is survived by children, Christina Stolzenburg-Delong (Arvel Delong), David Stolzenburg, Patricia Clifford, William (Karen) Barido, John Legg, James Legg, Matthew Webb, and William Stolzenburg; many grandchildren; brothers, Frank Stolzenburg and Homer Penwell; sisters, Ruth Penwell, Sherry Dewitt, Hazel (Lamont) Poole, and Jeanie (Jerry) Howell; and a host of nephews and nieces including Daisy Mae Fletcher, whom he cherished.

Graveside service and interment 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Grove City Cemetery, Grove City, OH, followed by a gahtering and dinner at the home of Patricia Clifford.
