Edward G. Lefeld, Jr., of Columbus, Ohio passed away at 7:12 PM on Wednesday,  November 3, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

He was born on June 4, 1944 in Celina, Ohio to the late Edward and Viola (Heuing) Lefeld.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Alberta Behr, Ft. Loramie, Phyllis Krieg, North Star, Madonna (Francis) Grieshop, Chickasaw, and Allen (Linda) Lefeld, Coldwater; nieces and nephews, Doug (Jackie) Winner, Patrick (Elizabeth) Winner, Jason (Regina) Winner, Stacey (Aaron) Sauve',  Lisa (Larry) Heitkamp, Lori (Rob) Good, Leslie (John) Tobe, Brenda (Zach) Thomas, Cynthia (Greg) Miller, Kimberly (Brad) Muhlenkamp, Jennifer (Todd) Grillot, Matthew (Patricia) Lefeld, Chad (Heather) Lefeld, and Eric (Ashleigh) Lefeld; 32 grand-nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by special friend and companion, Deb Near, and close friends, Linda Coats, John and Lucy Brandt, the Ford Club members, friends at his Senior Community apartment complex, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia (Lefeld) Winner, brothers-in-law Dale Winner, John Krieg, and Larry Behr, grandparents Henry and Odilia Heuing and George and Bernadine Lefeld.

Ed was a 1962 Graduate of St. Henry High School. He spent many years working with employers such as, Hart & Hart Associates, Minster Machine Company, Regional Manager for Bestline Products, Hocking Valley Hunting Preserve, Eisel's Paint & Body restoring show cars, and Weiland's Gourmet Market.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Columbus, Ohio, the United Ford Owners Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary, and the Knights of St. John 4S Club.

Ed was a long time resident of German Village and volunteered at the German Village Haus und Garten Tour in the Society's Vistors Center every Monday since 1984 until he was unable to in recent years.  He also volunteered at the German Village Octoberfest for over 30 years.

Ed was a dedicated fan and loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday always believing they were going to pull out the big one!

One of Ed's outstanding traits was his ability to make friends.  He didn't know a stranger and always made people feel welcomed. He loved fixing up old vehicles and going to shows, fishing, karaoke, and hanging out with his friends.  He was a tough cookie and battled his illnesses for several years.  He will be remembered for his great kindness, cherished memories, and his strength through it all.  He will be forever loved and missed.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on November 20, 2021 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Wendelin, Ohio, with burial in St. Wendelin church cemetery and a reception to follow.
