March 3, 1949 ~ December 20, 2023 (age 74) 74 Years Old

JAMES T. GIVENS, JR. was called home unexpectedly at his new apartment  (Mulby Place) on December 20, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born in Willard, Ohio, on March 3, 1949, the only son of Lillian (Hammock) Givens and James T. Givens Sr.

Jimmy enjoyed participating in and watching all sports. As a youngster and later as a father, he passed his love of skating to his 2 sons who also became avid skaters. He also liked imitating Elvis Presley. As an adult he continued his love of dancing, going to movies, playing bid whist and casino slots. Anyone that knew "J.T." got a kick out of seeing what he would be wearing, because he loved dressing in his colorful clothes, sun glasses and hats. While attending Mt Zion COGIC, he sang in the choir with his favorite song being "I Found the Answer." During the times he didn't have a car, he could be seen walking down the street to visit his mother or wherever else his legs took him. He was a "true walker."

Jimmy was employed by Jacobs and Sons as a mover. He was an expert at organizing a truck. Later he was employed by General Motors.

In his later years, he devoted his time to his loving wife Debra Wade and his great-grandson Ja Shad Giamarco Ward.

Jimmy was preceded in death by wife Debra Givens, son James Lamont Givens, father James T. Givens Sr., special cousins Fred Williams and Charles Cheeks.

Left to cherish his memories are his 96 year old mother, Lillian Camak-Harris; sons, Jerrone Allen Givens, "Bubbs" Tyrell (Sarah) Givens; and daughter, Jeanne Giamarco; sisters, Patricia (Marvin) O'Daniel and Brenda Givens; seven bonus daughters, Michelle, Denise, Felicia, Veronica, Mona, Tameka, and Deonte; and bonus son, David. He also leaves grandchildren, Niketa, James, Amber, Jerrone, Jerronica, and Jaxson Givens. Plus Richard and Jasmine Ward Tansem and Talya Blanton; 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The person taking his calls and running his errands will be his loyal friend "bonus daughter" Santosha Saunders. Also his devoted counselor Shrree Booker will miss his many calls
