James Arnold Adams, age 88, peacefully passed away at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Milan, TN to the late James and Gaynell Smith Adams. James served as Staff Sargeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired after 36 years from the Federal Government. He was an active member of the St. Philip Episcopal Church and a Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
James is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Adams Combs and Judith Adams Pirtle; brother, Larry A. Adams of Carson, CA; granddaughters, Simone E. Pirtle, Dominique R. Pirtle, and Danielle E. Pirtle; great-grandson, Jaimeson A. Pirtle; and many other relatives and close friends.
Friends and family may call at the St. Philip Episcopal Church, 166 S. Woodland Avenue on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 9:30am until time of his Fraternity Omega Service at 10:30am and memorial service at 11:00am. (Please note social distancing requirements) Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the St. Philip Memorial Garden in memory of James and Janice Adams.
