Our father, James "Jim" Steven Clark, 74, passed away on May 13, 2021. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Milton, WV and grew up in Cambridge, Ohio.
At 17, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served at Clarks Air Force base in the Philippines and on an USAF air base in England. After service, Jim moved to Wisconsin where he began his family. After a few years in Wisconsin and a year in West Virginia, he settled his family in Columbus, Ohio, where he has lived since 1973. Jim worked for Jeffrey Mining and Machinery for approximately 20 years. He owned and operated a used furniture store on East Main through the late 90s while beginning his employment at Fred D. Pfening Company where he worked until 2017.
Our father was a very generous, loyal and caring family man. He took in and cared for those who needed help. He taught us to be grateful for family, to forgive each other and to keep each other close. He taught us this by staying close to his large family base that included his siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio and in West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Clark; his parents, A. Vernon and Deloris Clark; his brothers, Richard Clark and Tony Clark; and his sisters, LaDonna Clark Hunter and Juanita Clark Scott.
He is survived by his children; Sharyn Clark (Rick Brown); Bobby (Dennise) Clark; Vanessa (Andrew) Stuller; Chrissy (Wyatt) Schons; and Rena (Michael) Hudson; his 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Eric, Amber, Rudy, Cassye, Michael, Jeb, Makayla, Libby, Maddye, Damon, and Damiana; his 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Cindy (Jim) Devore; his cousins and special caretakers, Joseph Sargent and Diana Sargent; and by several nephews, nieces and cousins of both the Clark and Sargent families.
Visitation to honor both Jim and Denise will be 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home, 1631 Parsons Ave., where the evening will conclude with the air Force Honor Guard and presentation of the flag.
