James "JD" King Obituary

James Dudley King Jr., age 80, passed away quietly at home on Sunday, Oct 13, 2019.  He was born April 14, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He served his country proudly in the US Air Force and received his honorable discharge as a Staff Sargeant. Graduated from Rutgers University in 1972 with an Engineering Degree. As a civilian employee, he worked for the Navy, Marines and Army, retiring after 43 years of service.

Known to his friends as “JD”, he was an avid golfer, and he loved to travel and wanted to do that more than anything.

Preceded in death by his parents, Dudley James King, Sr. and Edna Allen King Collins; sister, Melanie Lambeth; and sons, James D King III and Brian Harris King.

Survived by his daughter, Kimberly King Ramirez; sisters, Brenda King and Patricia Penn; 3 grandchildren, Dominick, Asheleigh, and Yrricka; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaelib and Khia; a host of nieces and nephews; life partner, Carolyn Johnson; and her two daughters, Pam and Candice; 6 grandchildren, Lashonda, Niko, Jeremy, Jason, Adam, and TK; and 3 great-grandchildren, Maddie, Gigi, and Aalyia; and many friends.

A service with Military Honors will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home, 1631 Parsons Ave.
