John Guernelli Obituary

John Dennis Guernelli passed away at his home in Ohio on February 24, 2023 from complications due to malaria. John was born on June 14, 1963 in Natick, Massachusetts, the second child of John Dennis and Bessie Guernelli. John grew up as a native of Massachusetts and was an avid Patriots fan who never missed watching a game. He eventually moved to Ohio to World Harvest (now Valor) Christian College. He eventually graduated in 2016 with an associate’s degree of Applied Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.

John was a Christian man of God who served a higher purpose of preaching as an evangelist and a leader in churches in Ohio and in Massachusetts. He was a faithful member of World Harvest Church and was continuously active in ministries and outreaches to the community. He was ordained through Father's Heart Ministries in 2020. During his time in Ohio, he was a faithful friend and encourager to many leaders and pastors throughout the state, and we would travel and minister in these churches and share about his missionary travels and was deeply loved and appreciated amongst the African churches in Columbus. He deeply valued the work of the Holy Spirit to bring truth and life to people, and he was a man of deep integrity and faithfulness in his relationships and ministry. John strove to preach the gospel and travel the world to help bring the good news of Jesus Christ to others, traveling to Uganda, Haiti, Brazil, Canada, and most recently to Sierra Leone, where he preached in a healing crusade, witnessing physical healings and many coming to know the Lord. His ministry touched countless lives and many people experienced the love of Jesus Christ through him.

John was a kind hearted man who loved the Lord. He was always a "friendly smile" and someone who wanted to be a friend. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, pastors, leaders, and fellow parishioners but we are all comforted in knowing he's where he’s always wanted to be, in the presence of the Lord.

John is survived by his sister Diane and niece Sarah Guernelli of Massachusetts. His cousins Carol Smith of Delaware, Joyce Smith of Maine, George Smith of Kansas, Doris and Mike Krysak of North Carolina, Lori Guernelli of Massachusetts. and Lewis Guernelli of Arizona.
