Rev. Dr. John D. Montgomery, Sr, age 79. Sunrise October 7, 1938, Sunset September 21, 2018.

John went to be with the Lord, whom he loved dearly. He was at Highbanks Nursing Home for 4 years.

He will be missed by his wife, Carla; son, John Jr. (Torana); daughter, Alisha; step-son Byrun Strozier; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Edwards; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by son Ervin.

He attended Ohio State University, where he was on the Body Building Team, and received his Doctrine in Theology from Oxford University. He was a Mason, Eagle Scout, and a member of the Columbus Metropolitan Area Church Council. John was a true Buckeye fan.

Visitation 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3 at COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave., where service will follow at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
