John Robinson Obituary

John Lee Robinson MD, 86, died 1/7/22, surrounded by his family. Born December 20, 1935, Omaha, Nebraska. Predeceased by parents Honorable Richard E. and Florence Rich Robinson, brother Thomas E. Robinson. Survived by wife of 58 years, Carol; children, Paul (Jill) Robinson of Los Angeles and Anne Robinson Albers MD PhD (Kirk) of Upper Arlington; grandchildren, Jane and Hannah Robinson, Evan and Eric Albers. Graduate of Creighton Prep in Omaha, Yale College (magna cum laude), and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Faculty member The Ohio State University College of Medicine division of cardiology forty years, followed by volunteer teaching in retirement. Recognitions include: first recipient of the Department of Surgery annual John L. Robinson teaching award (1993), Department of Internal Medicine Metz award for distinguished patient care (2001), and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award (2015) for teaching electrocardiogram interpretation to medical students and house staff. A founding member of the volunteer medical advisors, Worthington Emergency squad. Member Worthington Presbyterian Church. Private pilot, student of history, including aviation history. A kind, gentle, honorable person with a remarkable sense of humor. Will be sadly missed by family and friends. There will be a private service for the family. Interment Union Cemetery.
