Joyce A. (McQueary) Hayes

Joyce A. Hayes, age 86, was born October 2, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio, and departed peacefully on December 30, 2021.

She attended Columbus Public Schools, graduated from East High School in 1953, and attended The Ohio State University.  Created from her passions within for Arts and Crafts she became the founder of her own label brand Joyhsherlynne ETC & ETC, to share with all her joy, ideas and style.

Joyce was united in marriage to the late Aubra Shelton Hayes, Sr. and to this union 5 children were born.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold & Bernice McQueary, brother Bruce McQueary, son Shawn Hayes, daughter Gina Hayes, granddaughter Ty Shawna Hayes, great-granddaughter Tovalayiona Aubriel Bowles, and grandson Lamonte Hayes.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory sister, Sharon (George) Garlington; daughter, Trina (Kirk) Becker; sons, Aubra “Butch” Hayes and Robert (Paulette) Hayes; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; her only nephew, niece and close friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home, 1631 Parsons Ave. where family will receive friends until start of service.  Interment Eastlawn Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
