Judy Kay (Metz) Helton, age 75, passed away September 2, 2021 at her home, with her loved ones by her side.
She was born November 12, 1945 in Gallipolis, OH to Robert and Neva (Shifflet) Metz. She was raised in Minerton, OH. She attended Wilton High School in Wilkesville, OH, graduating in 1963. After high school, Judy Kay settled in Groveport, OH, and later moved to Columbus. She retired from The Ohio Education Association, and worked in child care later in life.
Judy Kay was a great animal lover, and enjoyed planting flowers with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Neva Metz, brother, John Gail Metz, and grandson, Colt Allen Bird.
She is survived by long-time companion, Robert Emmers; daughters, Tina (Gary) Helton-Maynard and Lisa Helton; grandsons, Tristan (Brandy) Jarrell and Zachary Bird; granddaughter, Paige Chester; great-grandchildren, Micah Gilliam, Caiden Jarrell and Corian Jarrell, all of Columbus, OH; sister, Mary (David) Kearney, of Bremerton, WA; brother, Robert (Deloris) Metz, of Wilkesville, OH; aunts, Julia (Billy) Simmonds and Barbara Barcley; many step-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her faithful pup, Bandit.
At this time there will be no services per Judy Kay's wishes. The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
She will be missed.
