Lavita Johnson Obituary

Lavita Denese Johnson, age 69, was born December 6, 1950 in Tampa, FL to the late Charles R. Johnson, Jr. and Lillie Lee Peeples.  She accepted Christ at a young age at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith.

Lavita was a graduate of East High School, class of 1969.  She was a retired employee of Giant Eagle, and formerly worked at Life Care Alliance, Wellington School, and The Ohio State University.

She enjoyed singing and listening to music.  She always had a smile on her face, and was full of laughter, and had a way of making others laugh along with her. She was willing to help anyone in need.

Lavita Denese Johnson was called to Glory by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at the Pickerington Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by parents Charles R. Johnson, Sr. and Lillie Lee Peeples, brother Anthony J. Johnson, son Christopher M. Johnson, and grandson Gino Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Dwayne M. (Tabatha) Johnson of Sandusky, OH; brothers, Charles R. (Genelle) Johnson, Frederick J. (Kimberly) Johnson, Wayne E. (Victoria) Peeples, and Jeffry L. (Cheryl) Johnson of Louisvillle, KY; granddaughters, Bella Shyare and Gianna Johnson; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ruby Stewart, Adrian McMillan, and Christine Shapauski; special nephew, Sean Dulin; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home, 1631 Parsons Ave., where service will follow at 2:00.

Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, no more than 10 people will be allowed into the viewing at a time.  The service is for immediate family only, but will be live streamed.
