Liggett Micheal Sexton

Liggett Michael "Mike" Sexton, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday, July 24, 2023, at his home in Columbus, Ohio.

Liggett was born in Cincinnati on October 1, 1961, to Denver Burl Sexton and Roberta Tapley.  He served in the United States Army in the late 1970s. His acceptance of others was his greatest virtue. Kindness and purity of heart followed him where ever he went. He was intelligent and capable of achieving anything he wanted. His great imagination and energy for life assisted him in all things.  He loved rock-n-roll and country music, playing guitar, fishing, and hunting, telling jokes, shooting pool, dancing, and always having a good time. When he was in the room, everyone knew it!  In Mike's World, he was Big Sexy.  

He was preceded in death by his father Denver Burl Sexton of Columbus, OH., and his stepmother Barbara Sue “Bobbie” Edmondson of Chattanooga, TN, brothers Tom of Ladson, SC., and Kenneth Tapley of Cincinnati, OH.

Loving him after his passing are his mother, Roberta Tapley of Batavia, OH; his son, Jason Sexton and partner Trey Trego living in Panama City Beach, FL; and his daughter, Delana Lee Sexton of Galion, OH (grandchildren, Avery and Marvel); his half-sisters, Susan Denise Sexton of Chattanooga, TN and Peggy Ridener Cincinnati, OH (children, Michael, Misty, Bobby); half-brothers, Denver Burl Sexton, Jr. of Columbus, OH (child, Dylan), Lester Haydon of Bluffton, SC (children, Leslie, Jessica, Cameron), Don Hampton of Kenova, WV (child, DJ) Joseph (Regina) Goines, Cincinnati, OH (children, Andrea and Aaron); other nieces and nephews, Shawn Goines, Dawn Hajek, and Robin Goines; and ex-wife of 15 years, Tracy Sexton.
