Obituary

Mary Ellen Barnhart, age 89, died Friday, July 14, 2023 at National Church Residences following an extended illness.

She was born on August 22, 1933 to the late Louis C. and Mary M. Petrie. On December 25, 1953 she married Donald W. Barnhart who preceded her in death December 10, 1997.

Surviving are sons, Don (Becky) Barnhart of Londonderry and Ned Barnhart of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Aaron (Vanessa Arrigo) Barnhart of Waverly and Samantha (Nigel) Harrison of Columbus OH; and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ellen was predeceased by sisters Janet Grieco and Lorene Lowery.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service. Mary Ellen’s family wish to express their gratitude to NCR Chillicothe for the excellent care she received during her illness.
