Obituary

Mary Lea Bailey, 96 years old, died peacefully April 6, 2023 at Willow Brook at Delaware Run, in Delaware, OH.

She was born September 9, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA.

She was predeceased by her husband Warren Bailey, and sister Laurie Murray. 

She is survived by her sibling, Gussie Mills; daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Randy Mercer, Linda and Michael Johnson, Rebecca and Nelson Stansbury; 2 grandchildren, Drew Hawthorne and Nathan Hawthorne; and 1 great grandchild Jade Hawthorne.

Mary Lea and Warren moved to Delaware, OH in 1953, where they owned and operated World Wide Games for 33 years. The business was created from their involvement in the cooperative recreation movement and their strong interest in using play to build strong community and family ties. She was involved in many community organizations over the years. Her passion was always teaching international folk dance, which she did, throughout the country, for over 70 years.

The family is holding a private memorial.
