Ruby Jewel Toran, age 61, passed away April 24, 2021 at her home in Etna, OH.
She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in activities. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Worship Center, and her devotion to her work in the church is legendary. She thoroughly loved teaching and preaching God’s word.
Preceded in death by great-grandparents Joseph and Hannah Craft, grandparents William and Pauline Walker, grandmother Tina Mae Patrick, father JB Denson, and sisters Tracy (Raymond) Reese, Antionette Walker, and Carrie Woody.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Timothy Toran; daughter Tawana (William III) Dukes; son, Zacchaeus Toran; grandchildren, Zavieus Toran, William Dukes IV, Aniah Dukes, Tamiza Toran, Isaac Dukes, and Timothy Dukes; mother, Donna Marie Horton; father, John Ecker Hatchett, Jr.; sisters, Deidre (Keith) Tucker, Alicia (Jonathan and Tim) Hatchett, Darlena McCall, Monique Mkiramweni, and Toya (LJ) Williams; brothers, Sonny Joseph (Latonya) Walker, Sr. and John (Benita) Bowie, Sr.; “bonus” daughters, Leah Watson and Lybra Watson and “bonus” grandson, Kenneth Wilkerson III; special Goddaughter, Nina Kendrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including special cousin Thomas Walker.
Visitation 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Worship Center, 2182 Courtright Road, Columbus, OH 43232, where service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment following service at Eastlawn Cemetery.
