Shirley Ann Brewer, age 73, earned her wings and became one of God's angels on August 30, 2021 after losing a battle with Covid.
She was born in Columbus on January 10, 1948 to James and Mildred (McCall) Curtis. She graduated from Franklin Heights High School. She was a member of Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved to serve others. She was a lontime resident of Franklinton (The Bottoms) before moving to Pike County (Ohio) to live near her beloved children and grandchildren.
She was known for her big smile and her heart of gold. She loved church and serving others. Hers was a carefree lifestyle, and she embraced an "I accept you for who you are" go with the flow personality. She lived a simple life, was easy going, and never materialistic. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She loved fishing, butterflies, and watching "her" hummingbirds while relaxing on her front porch. She also loved watching cooking shows and doing puzzle books. And most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her father, James Curtis; granddaughter, Tashia Pendleton; and son-in-law, George "Butch" Pendleton.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred Curtis; sisters, Pat Yantis and Diana Jackson; daughter, Carman Pendleton; son, James Brewer; grandchildren, Crystal, Ashley, George, and Nicki; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Chelsea, Isaac, and Jayden; many nieces, nephews, and other family members; and many friends and people whose lives she touched throughout the years.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
