Udaia C. Jones

Udaia Jones, age 37, of Pataskala, passed away peacefully at 11:05pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

On November 14, 1983, Udaia was born in Columbus, OH, the daughter of Virginia Jones. She graduated from Licking Heights High School in the Class of 2002.

Udaia was a proud Mama of two, daughter, sister, aunt, and the best friend you could ever have. Udaia was a walking angel and always put others before herself. She loved spending every second making memories with her children, Ella and Colin and her fur babies, Yukon, Myla & Navi. Udaia had an infectious smile and laugh that could light up the darkest of rooms. She was a social butterfly and had a gift of bringing people together. She enjoyed taking her children, nieces, and nephews to the Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Bay and Franklin Park Conservatory.

Since July 2019, when Udaia was diagnosed with breast cancer, she put up a courageous fight, never let the cancer define her or stop her from making the most out of every day.  Through all of her treatments she was able to keep a smile on her face, remain full of optimism and never once complained.  Cancer may have finally defeated her body, but it never touched her spirit or grace.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ethel Moore and Albert Moore; aunt and uncles, Albert Moore Jr., Cleadus Layne, Margaret Layne, and Leroy Moore.

Udaia will be missed dearly by her children, Ella Moore (10) and Colin Rich (9); mother, Virginia Jones; sisters, Cheri, Elizabeth (Josh McKee), and Christina; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Five14 Church. Additional details to follow.
