Windsor Ramsey, Jr. Obituary

Windsor Carlton Ramsey, Jr. was born on November 26, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away peacefully at Grant Medical Center on December 17, 2020.

Windsor graduated in 1966 from South High School in Columbus, OH.  He worked many years in management for the Big Bear grocery store chain and 7-11, where he was able to do what he loved most, teaching, guiding and helping others. His position in management afforded him the opportunity to work in multiple cities around the U.S, where he made lasting and cherished friendships.  Eventually, Windsor would return back home to Columbus, Ohio to be closer to his family, especially his grandkids whom he loved dearly. Windsor finished his career at Advance Auto Parts, where he was still able to do what he loved, teach, guide and help customers. He loved watching OSU football, spending time with his family and taking trips to the horse races.

Windsor is preceded in death by his parents Windsor C. Ramsey and Pauline Ramsey; sister Nancy and brother Gary.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his two children, Windsor C. Ramsey III (Tonja) and Wanda R. Ramsey; the mother of his children and life-long friend Ollie J. Ramsey; sister, Carolyn Johnson; brother, Rick Ramsey; grandkids, Brandyn Ramsey, Alexus Ramsey, Yashae Ramsey, Keeshawn Ramsey, Joe Moore II; great grandkids, Erion, Braelyn, and Jay; Special friends, Lorena Medina Gonzalez, Roz Ramsey and Mr. Rudy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 THE FALLEN LIMB

A limb has fallen from the family tree.

I keep hearing a voice that says. “grieve not for me.

Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.

The good life I lived while I was strong.

Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.

Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.

Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small.

Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.

Until the day comes we’re together again.
